Drone Chimney Inspection
Drone Chimney Inspection in London, Hertfordshire & Essex
Sometimes the problem isn't inside the flue. It's on the outside of the stack. Cracked flaunching, missing bricks, deteriorating pointing, damaged lead flashing: these issues cause problems inside the chimney but they're not always visible from the ground, and they're difficult to inspect without scaffolding or a cherry picker.
SweepSmart carries out drone chimney inspections across London, Hertfordshire and Essex. We fly a compact drone fitted with a high-resolution camera close to the chimney stack, capturing detailed footage and photographs from every angle. It's safer than ladders, significantly cheaper than scaffolding, and covers areas that can be difficult to reach by any other method.
Our drone pilot is CAA certified and fully insured for commercial drone operations. The drone is small enough to operate in confined spaces between properties and can capture detailed imagery of the stack, flaunching, pots, leadwork, and surrounding brickwork.

What Will You Receive from a Drone Chimney Inspection?
- High-resolution photographs of the chimney stack from multiple angles
- Video footage of the full external condition
- A summary of any visible damage or areas of concern
- Images delivered digitally so you can share them with roofers or builders for quotes

When Would You Need a Drone Chimney Inspection?
You've noticed damage or deterioration visible from the ground but need a closer look. You want to check the condition of the stack, flaunching, or leadwork without the cost of scaffolding. A surveyor or builder has flagged potential chimney issues on the exterior. You want a complete picture of your chimney's condition, inside and out, alongside an internal CCTV inspection.

What You Should Know Before Booking
Drone inspections depend on suitable weather conditions and the property being outside of a designated no-fly zone. Proximity to tall trees, power lines, or neighbouring properties may also affect whether a drone inspection is possible at your location. We'll confirm suitability when you book.
A drone inspection covers the external condition of the chimney. For the internal flue, you'll need a CCTV inspection. The two work well together for a complete assessment of your chimney's condition from the inside out.
